While practicing good netiquette, it is also wise to practice good internet safety. Whether you post on social media, write a blog post, or upload a video, there are four major components to staying safe on the internet.
(1) The internet is forever - Anything you put on the internet will be there for a very long time...
(2) Don't put your personal information online - Your personal information shouldn't be visible to everybody
(3) Don't forget about phone safety - Do not accept phone calls or texts from strange numbers
(4) Handle hacking intelligently - If you are hacked, change your password, check your sent box, and clean off your hard drive

Netiquette and Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, or tablets and includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. (Definition Source: stopbullying.gov)

Cyberbullying is NOT a practice of good netiquette. An easy way to check yourself is to THINK before you post.
